From what I previously thought was related to the time of day, date, etc. the PS2’s classic startup screen actually changes over time due to games you play on it.
A brand new PS2 system starts up with the classic dark background with lights shooting around that represent the colors of the PlayStation buttons.
Over time and years of playing games, the space becomes populated with towers (or stacks) of games that the player had spent time on.
It’s like an over world view of the players devotion of games and reminds me personally of a city view.
