“The unsuccessful launch of FFXIV caused a negative chain of events in other areas across the businesses. One notable example is the significant delay in the development of new HD games titles in Japan. As a result, our major releases of HD game titles use IPs previously developed by Eidos Interactive, and are sold mainly in Europe and North America,” according to Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada.

Over at Square Enix there are only a few games this could mean the first being  the un-shown action rpg that uses the Unreal engine and then there is the more likely candidate Final Fantasy Versus 13,which after Type-0’s release Nomura had stated it’s Final Fantasy Versus XIII‘s turn to shine, which they later changed its time of being shown too “soon”.This seemingly shows why Versus has been gone for so long.

Also adding to Versus 13’s delay is Final Fantasy XII-3 which is using assets from Versus 13.Hopefully this  “soon” they keep telling us will actually be soon for once.
